Heater in fuge?

I don't have a sump, so If I want to keep the heaters out of the display tank then they will have to go into the fuge.
While I don't think I'll have anything in there that they will hurt or hurt them,I do have a concern:
I have 2 hoses coming from my overflow and once I get my tank running if I find that the flow is too strong thru the fuge,then I was going to put one of the hoses straight into the pump return area.
Doing this will cut the flow going thru the fuge in half (in theory anyway.)
My question is if I have a lower flow rate going thru the fuge where the heaters are,will they still get enough water flow to heat the whole works?
They are too long to lay down in the return area but they could run up and down, but what if the water level in the return area doesn't completely cover them?
They are Odyssea 200 watt heaters by the way (two of them.)

cant really answer your questions, but i will say this. After having (and having seen MANY more) several jebo/odysea products either fail or start fires, i'll never touch any of their stuff again. That is untill maybe they redo everything and make it actually durable.

I'd recommend getting a different heater alltogether, like maybe a stealth or an ebo jager.

well, hopefully they dont get stuck "on." Knowing that brand, i would say you gotta watch out for that. Unless you want boiled fish for dinner that is

But how much did you get them for? I just got a stealth from drsfostersmith.com for 18 bucks. It was the 250w one.

You want slow flow through the sump/fuge so the macros can take care of all the excess nutrients. My setup flows about 400gph and I put my heater in the first chamber with the skimmer.

Does it have to be set at a higher temp in the sump/fuge in order to get the water at the right temp in the display tank?

no, not really. I set my heater for 79 (i think) and it goes right to that through the whole tank, give or take a couple degrees.

Since you have a fuge, I'm going to guess that you have an overflow. If it is a RR and not a HOB overflow, stick the heater in there. It's concealed and gets a lot of water movement past it.

Its a hang on back overflow.
I guess I can wait until I put the water in (waiting on my ro/di unit to arrive in the mail.) and see how high the water level is in the pump return section. If it stays at about a foot,then they can go in there vertically.
