1, 3, and 5 are Turbo or a related genus that feeds on algae and is good for reef tanks. Was 3 locally collected? It may not do well in year-long the warm temperatures of a reef aquarium. 2 is Nassarius and is a carrion eater.

Your fork-tailed snail is likely a nassarius, a carrion-eater, good for the tank.

Hi o2zen,
I'm a "shell" identifier more than an animal identifier, so it's harder for me to tell you what they are by looking at the foot, but... Image 1 appears to Lithopoma caelatum, a turbinid from Florida and the Caribbean, and Image 3 looks to be Turbo castanea, another (uncommon) Florida/Caribbean species. I think the others already have good ID's, except I can't tell enough about Image 4 to give you a good guess, and since your Busycon appears to be sinistral, it should be Busycon contrarium. http://www.gastropods.com/9/Shell_1789.html http://www.gastropods.com/7/Shell_1787.html http://www.gastropods.com/7/Shell_17.html Cheers, Don |
