weird sixline behavior
i added a sixline a few days ago, first day saw what i thought was ich, but is not gone....so i dont know. anyways, eats great, always swimming all over the tank, but today he started doing something wierd. basically he extends all his fins out arches his body and spasims....sounds a lot worse now that i reread that, but he does that and then swims like normal. he'll do that 5 or 6 times at a time, always facing the glass. did it a little before feeding time and was doing it until lights just now went out.

May be puffing up to show territorial porperty? My sixline swims a lot around the tank and is very friendly with the other fish. You did just add him, may want to check for fin dammage or something like that to see if hes been bullied around? Otherwise ask your LFS about how they quarentined the dude.

it could be territorial...but then why would he do it facing out of the glass and not to my algea blenny? his fins are all fine, the only other fish is that blenny, and ive never seen anything except them getting along.

My sixline stiffens and shakes at the glass at times. I sometimes wonder if he's trying to intimidate his reflection.

Mine also does that quite often. He sometimes does it in front of my mating pair of clowns when my male is shaking and showing off to the female. Not sure what it is but mines been doing it for almost 3 weeks now (since i got him) and hes still kicking around and healthy as can be so it cant be to bad.

Same here. As long as it's just a quick twitch, I think you're fine. My six-line has been doing this for awhile, and I've had him close to a year. He's definitely a character, and is always showing off for me when I come up to the tank.
