Add 1 or 2 more tangs?

I posted this in the 'reef fishes' forum but I didn't get many responses so I'm posting it here.

I have a 210 gal tank with the following fish:

1 Coral Beauty
1 Yellow Tang
1 Kole Tang
1 Midas Blenny
1 Leopard Wrasse
2 Ocel. clowns
3 Pajama Cardinals
5 Chromis

My tank has approximately 280 lbs of LR and it has a 40 gal sump/refugium.

I would like to add a powder brown tang and maybe a blue hippo tang if it would fit. I would probably add them at the same, after they are out of QT.

Would both tangs work? Should I only add the powder brown tang or am I at my max. bioload now?

Thanks!

I would add only one of them. Honestly I would go with the powder brown, (or a powder blue). I think you would be ok as long as you stay on top of your water changes, and keep a close eye on your water parameters.

Good Luck!!!

I'd say go for it, you have the space. I have the powder brown and hippo tang and they are fun to watch. The pbt is definately the queen of the tank, she doesn't pick on anyone, but keeps everyone in line. Do watch for ich as these two will get some form. The pbt had it really bad, so bad she couldn't see and just swam into everything, but shes a fighter! They are all healthy now.

Get the hippo! I love those guys, that flash of brilliant blue is so amazing. Powders are gorgeous but nothing is as knock your socks off blue as a Dorie fish.

Do you think that there would be any issues between my established kole tang and the powder brown tang? I'm wondering if there would be fighting because of the similar color.

Does a Powder Brown have the same shape as a Kole or Yellow? Sorry but I can't picture them right now. If the shape and color are similar you may have problems. That's one reason I said go with the Hippo - unique shape and color.
