can I use this pump on a ASM g3

can I use a sedra 9000 on a asm g3

Sedra 5000 is the normal for a g3. If it was mine, I would put a T pvc on the output inside the skimmer, mesh mod it, and post pictures of the skimmate to make people who bought Deltec's and Bubble Kings jealous.

well I went and ordered the pump today now I just got to figure how to remove the needlewheel from the old pump to put into the new one

Ignore MrPike, all of the fiddling and modifications are not necessary. The G-3 comes with the Sedra 5000. The 9000 may be overpowered to the point of reduced skimmate.
Removing the needle wheel is easy. The front part just twists off(no screws). The needle wheel/magnet slides out. That simple.
