Oh, II just checked I can change mine if I want, its in the Edit profile options, so I guess it's got to do with post count as mentioned.

To those that have custom avatars, where did you get them from? I have tried to use pics I have taken as well as "custom avatar sites". I know the rule about 150X150 pixels and small file size but they are never accepted. I see many members that have avatars with a lot of color and detail, how do you do it. I know it seems a little silly to care about this but I do.

imagine software can shrink the image and keep the detail.

Thats how I did mine

Yes, most decent photo software can optimize images quite well without losing to much detail. I use Corel Paint Shop Pro.

I live in New Bern. I was just in Boone a couple months ago. One of the nicest places in NC IMO!
