Tank Set Up
Hi Everyone,
Me an my roommate are in the process of setting up a 30 Gallon Reef tank. Was looking for some advice on a protein skimmer and powerhead set up. After doing some research online, it seems that our best bet would be the Aqua C Remora with the Maxijet 1200 and then buying another Maxijet 1200. Do you think this would be enough flow or maybe should we go with two more 12's? Also we're having a stand and hood made for the tank. What would be good lighting for this set up? It's a 30 Gallon tank and will have 30-45 lbs. of live rock. Thanks for any help. |

I think that should be enough water flow. The company Current USA makes a few good lighting fixtures for your size tank. The Sunpod 36in 2x150w 14k HQI with 18 Lunars is a great fixture. It has fans built in for cooling and it comes with timers. You can secure it inside your canopy or put it on the legs the company includes. There's also T-5 if you don't want to go halides. Current makes a 36' Nova Extreme with 2-Actinic and 2-Daylight T-5 bulbs. Lunars and Fans included.
