Cleaning subtrate?
do i clean my subtrate? i have white subtrate that isnt white on top at all anymore, do u clean subtrate the same way as fw tanks with the gravel vaccume? or am i spose to leave it be because it has all the bacteria needed in it? it just looks really dirty.

What type of substrate are you using? Crushed coral? Southdown/Yard Right/Aragamax? Caribsea Special Grade Reef Sand?
How deep is the substrate? Do you have detritivores in the tank? If so, what kind and how many?

dont even know what detritivores are lol, subtrate is about 1 and half inches deap and its just marble chip aragonite stuff i get from LFS here in Aus. about 2 - 2.5mm grade the tank has 2 big turbo snails, a occelaris clown and a dusk blennie in it, it has been setup for about 2 and a half to 3 months now and has been fine so far.
