Water change water has foulr odor

I have a green brute garbage container for my water change water.
http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio.../20&lpage=none
Ever since i started storing my water in there it develops this bad odor after a few days. Im putting pure ro in it, I even put an airstone and powerhead to keeps the water circulating but it still has the odor.
Any help would be appreciated

Have you checked the TDS coming out of your RO unit to make sure that it is actually pure? I notice mine starting to get a little odor when it is time to change filters/Di cartridge...

Mine gets a little odor as well. Even with new RO/DI filters. Not really a bad odor, just a little musty. I bleach my mixing barrel after each use as well. No matter what you do bacteria are going to get in there, and make a little odor.

Can you describe your odor a bit?

I shouldnt say its foul, I guess you can say its musty, I just get worried whenever I have to use it. I was also looking in to getting a tds meter.

Green brute? wasn't aware they made that color.
Anyway, on the lids and on the bottom of the "Brutes" by Rubbermaid, it say that White, Grey and Yellow are the only ones that is food grade, or how ever they worded it.

My water storage container does get a bit musty some time if I haven't cleaned it out with bleach for a while. Do you clean you brute out regularly?

That's the problem with RO, no chlorine = bacteria!

I give it a thorough rinse whenever it gets empty, is this just a general type of bacteria?
What about that tds meter?

I would say just a genaral type of bacteria, whatever it is it doesnt appear to do any harm, possibly the same stuff found in the aquarium.

I would keep looking for a TDS meter, the display is in 10 ppm increments and it probably only accurate to within say 20 ppm your reading could be off by as much as 30 ppm. Let me find an article about TDS meters for you befoe you buy.
