new filter advice

I have a 28 gallon bowfront nano-reef tank with a aqua clear 50 power filter, a coralife superskimmer 65, and a seaclear 50 powerhead. I am not satified with my filter and was looking into getting a much better filter. a sump system is not an option, but i was thinking along the line of a canister filter. can anyone give me some guidence on this? i am really looking to get my water nice and crisp and clear. or if anyone has any other ideas i am open to any suggestions.
