controller for fans

Aloha, I am looking to get a controller for my ice cap 120v temp sensor fans. I have 3 of them in my hood and was wondering if they make a controller out there that can handle all 3 at once. I have a RFK2 and do not know if adding extra expansion sockets would allow me to control these fans. Any help is greatly appreciated.

As in a temperature controller?? If that is what you mean then you could get a Ranco controller. They work great and will be able to handle more watts than your house outlet could probably supply.

I believe those fans have temperature sensors on them. If you simply want to control when they are on at all based on water temp, then I'd hook them all into an extension cord and plug the extension cord into one of the outlets on your RK2. They likely don't have much draw so that shouldn't be a problem. Then you can use the temp features on the RK2 to control when the fans are on and off.

Umm yes, your ice cap fans should already control themselves. If not, plug one of those small extension cords with three sockets on the other end into one of your reef keeper outlets and your RK will turn them on and off when needed.

Thats what I am doing with my three fans.

Aloha, Huh? right now I have all three fans plugged into A three way extension cord and then that's plugged into my RK2 with set temps but they never go on, even when I set the temp down to 72 and the MH are on. Do the ice cap fans have a preset temp they go on and off by?

Do they go on when you plug them into the wall directly? If so, then your RK2 is not providing power to the outlet.
