fluidizing a phosban reactor

Is flow via gravity enough to fluidize phosphate binding media in a phosban reactor? or is a driving pump a must?

As long as you have suffecient flow and pressure, it should work. I haven't seen anything about gph/gpm and TDH required so you'll probably just have to try it and see.

Yes it should work, they only require 20 - 40 gph. I would suggest tee-ing off your drain line so you don't reduce the flow through your drain/return system.

You want clean water or it plugs the sponges up real fast so use the return line if you are going to tee off something. I prefer a MaxiJet 400, its much simpler.

Question MJ-1200 for PhosBan Reactor?

I will be purchasing a TLF PhosBan Reactor for PHOSaR-HC media. I already have an MJ-1200 that I can use to pump water through the reactor. Will that pump work or do I need to purchase a smaller pump?

Way too big, you need about 40 to 60 gallons per hour, the 1200 does about 300. Plus its a power hog at over 20 watts.

PJF, that pump with work just get a ball valve and turn it down no problem at all.. Also the TLF comes with a ball valve so you are good to go.
