what is the difference between 10000k and 20000k etc.

the 10k is more yellow the 20k is blue.
The spectrum goes from yellow to blue in order from lowest to highest. Hope that helps |

This thread has some pics that will give you an idea of the effects of different Kelvin ratings, different bulbs, etc.
As far as which is better, a lot depends on what you're wanting to do. All things being equal, the lower Kelvin bulbs will give you more growth, the higher ones give you more color. If you want something in between, go with a 13,000K to 15,000K bulb. HTH, Mariner
