Chicago Convention

While being a newbe to this expensive hobby, I have become addicted to ReefCentral, trying to absorb as much information as possible.

I noticed in another thread someone asked about the location for the upcoming saltwater aquarium convention in Chicago (June I think). It looked interesting to me and wonder, has anyone attended one of these, and if so what did you think of it. I only live 3 hours from Chi-town and thought it might be a fun weekend.

They are a lot of fun and packed full of info for a newbie

IMAC is a great show, I'd definitly make plans on going. If you get your ticker earlier enough, it's cheaper

www.theimac.org.

Just a heads-up ... members of reef clubs get substantial discounts on registrations for IMAC by going to www.theimac.org, clicking on Program Advertising and scrolling down to the bottom.

Registration is $100 with this special, that's 1/3 off!

IMAC Videos

Hi Everybody;

Just in case you have never been to an IMAC, here is how you can get an idea of what to expect. Just go to www.theimac.org and scroll down to the bottom of the home page. You can see major portions (and in some cases their entire talk) of the presentations given by some speakers in the past. These include:

Eric Borneman, “Oxygen and the Reef Aquarium”
Gregory Schiemer, “Fishes in the Marine Aquarium”
Barry Neigut, “Keeping and Caring for Tridacna Clams”
Dr. Ron Shimek, “Myth Takes About Sand Beds”
Anthony Calfo, “Coral Farming”
Jeff Mitchell, “Diseases in Hippocampus”
Randy Reed, “Culturing Copopods and Rotifers”
Julian Sprung, “Goniopora Husbandry”
Richard Harker, “Coral Growth vs. Spectral Quality”
Eric Borneman, “Reef Aquarium Myths”
Dr. Ron Shimek, “A History of Sand Bed Organisms”

And the best part of this is that you can see them for FREE. Make sure to turn off your popup blocker.

Enjoy!

Dennis
