Great skimmer, and that's a good price for a LFS. More than adequate for your size tank.

Yeah I run the CS-80 (same thing just little better construction) and it's more than enough for a 40. You'll get a nice full cup every 2-3 days it's sweet.

RS & CS 80

I have to third the rs or cs 80, that little skimmer rocks. Deffinitely worth it.

I removed my air valve and reamed/drilled out the venturi a couple sizes (drill bit sizes). Mine sits in 9.5" of water and pulls a full cup every two days. Cheers on the new purchase.

Marty

PS. Lots of good info on the RS-80 here.

mine fills a cup in 4-5 days---air valve 3/4 way open, skimmer body seriously in need of a cleaning, 7 inches of water, nasty nasty skimmate. I was emptying it every 3 days with slightly lighter skim-mate but it was getting old.
