Question Anybody used Red Sea Magnesium Test Kit?

hi, i have this test but either i am doing something wrong or this test is bad.

The problem is when i add drops of the last liquid using the 1ml syringe the color almost never changes to blue as its presented on the color card. When i get to 50% of the syringe it changes to light blue but never as prominent. Even if i dump the entire liquid in there nothing happens.

I am not sure if you Mg is that low or this test is messed up.

Any help is appreciated.

I have never used the kit. But judging by the many recent complaints, I may have to buy one and see what the scoop is.

(I enjoy testing things)

I'm afraid at this time, I cannot determine if it is user error or the kit itself.

Either way, maybe get a second opinion. Either your lfs or a Salifert test.

My experience with Red Sea tests was negative, and I ended up returning the kit. There have been a lot of complaints about the Mg test lately, as well.

test is total junk. Tyr putting 2 or 3 syringes worth in, it will turn blue then. Return it.
