Phyto culture

Can phyto be cultured from liverock? After a few water changes the water in a white bucket looks a little green could it be phyto?

it could be but without looking under a microscope theres no way to tell if it is, or what kind of phytoplankton it is. theres also going to be a lot of things that would contaminate the culture in that water such as ciliates, and bacteria.
