I'm sure everyone will have their own opnion, but here is mine.
I have a 75g with 25g running through my sump and fuge. I started with a G-2 with Gate Valve and after six months, I ditched it and bought a Tunze 9010. I love the 9010 as I sure others will love their skimmers. Unfortuntately the Tunze is out of the price range you are looking at. That said, I would stay away from the G2. |

Octopus NW-200 is right in that budget, and it's a good skimmer.

im getting the recirc model of this and its supposed to be as good or better than an octo and out of a G2's league in some people's minds... check out this thread... http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...readid=1070192 buy 2 so you can clean them at alternating intervals i might buy this one and run it in sump with the rc version... super clean water sweet |

Well, i wouldn't say its better.......darn near exactly the same.....but better as its cheaper. My advice............read alot on RC! Check out the aqua euro thread as well as the woot odyssea, the ps160 and via aqua sk200 are both around 60-80 and very good. With a few mods, the via aqua will skim as well as anything in a 125g class of skimmers imo, so it will cost around 150tops to do.

How do you figure that the aquaeuro 135 is better than a Reef Octopus NW-200? It's not even close...
The AE-135 is 5.9" X 21"... the NW-200 is 8" x 24". This is about %75 more body volume. The pumps have similar flow, though the NW-200's OTP-3000 has more flow stock, and has much more potential for modding. The big aquaeuro with the 10" body might be better than the NW-200... but that 135 has no chance. The 10" body aquaeuro is really big, so you may not have room for it. You may not even have room for the NW-200 (measure). My vote is NW-200 if you can fit it. |

Kroe, your talking about a recirc vs a NW. There's a big dif. For a 75g, either will work very well.

I like the new aquaeuros how about the classic 250 if you do not like recircs.
