another skimmer question.

Is there a link to some info, pros and cons, and ways that different skimmers work.I am going to upgrade my skimmer soon but I dont know the best styles to get.I cant afford to spend $400 dollars on a skimmer.I might do a diy one but I need some info first.

well it depends on what you like. if noise, size, and having to run external pumps dont matter, then beckett skimmers are hard to beat in my limited experience. i had an mrc mr2, and i can even imagine another style skimmer being that powerful. its like it forces the protien out of your system. if you like beckett, see if you can find a used mr2. its a lil oversized for your tank, but that never hurts.
try to get one with the new style beckett it makes alot of difference.

Well in your opinions what is the best style of skimmer and why?
See I don't know what I like I have a coral life super skimmer right now and that's all I have ever owned.
