Gundo's 135 with CL

Well its been a week since I set up my new 135 gallon aquarium. I figured I'd post some pics to show my new setup. It has been a lot of work since I basically built most of it from scratch ie stand, canopy, sump, closed loop, hard plumbing, overflows DIY ATO ect. Needless to say Home Depot has been my second home for the past 6 months.

I carried over ~200 lbs LR and 80lbs LS. I also added 80 lbs of new sand. Now after a week I am starting to see some diatom growth on the sandbed as I expected. I really didnt have much of a cycle. My nitrates went from 0 to ~15 but nitrites never spiked.

My current Params:

PH: 8.3
Nitrate:~10
Nitrite:0
Phosphate:0
Amonia:0
Alkalinity:~9
Calcium:~420

Anyways, here's a few pics. I still have not rearanged my rock since the initial setup but I'm not sure if I really like it how it is. The ricordia rock on the right will be moved more into the mix to even the aquascape.

Aquascape suggestions are welcome!

Thanks for looking.

I ran into a problem with the closed loop plumbing once the tank was set in place. Basically, I would have had to drill through exterior wood running along our staircase. Not only that, but I also would have had to split an entire 2X6. To me, this was not worth doing so I had to improvise a bit.

Here's the original plan with two outakes on top and one intake on bottom. This is when it was in my garage. I could not complete it because I really didn't know how it would fit up once I went through the wall. I'm soo glad I didnt glue it!

The only benifit of an unfinished basement!

This is what I ended up with. I'm pretty happy with it. NO leeks! The pump is a Gex X pcx55. Its a beast!

A couple shots.

I was also able to mount my MH and VHO ballasts behind the wall as well:smile:.

Here's a few shots of the stand and the hood that I built. Both were were painted using a spray gun. They came out really nice.

Looks killer, Gundo! I like the aquascaping. Would look awesome with some SPS in there. Nice pulls on the cabinet btw.

Thanks Drummereef!

I just got a couple rose caps I had my freind hold onto during the upgrade.

Heres a photo from today. They're drip acclimating right now. The one on the right is recovering from a nasty saltcreep burn. It's slowly healing.
