getting rid of green star polyps

is there a safe way to get rid of green star polyps without causing porblems to the tank.... I tryed scraping off some, but that is way to time consuming...

take out the rock.

not the answer I was looking for..... I don't want to kill my live rock buy taking it out of the tank.... there are some big ones..

flip the rock, I've done it
