I can't tell a lot from the photos, but I'd say the worst you've got is a little cyanobacteria. It's annoying but harmless (can be controlled by controlling nutrients and increasing flow across affected areas). It could be just normal strains of algae or sponges, and they are generally good.

While you're cycling you could cut off the lights more frequently to prevent algae and cyano growth.

HTH,

Brad

well consider that when i got my Lr from Ocean Pro (guess thats the store online in CA) it was named premium fiji LR CURED, but since it got die off because of shipping, the rock still needs to get cured again in my tank with LS and stuff, the seller took one more week to deliver this rock so they offered a superior quality rock because of the delay they said they send me Ultra premium lived rock so thats the story i have like 8 days about since i started the cycling after i put my rock into the tank FOWLR ! hey jaw969 how long ur having tour tank set up? i ask you because i am new and you have 5 yrs with FO aquariums and you have the same white stuff?

My tank doesn't have any white stuff now but it did in one of my tanks(from some rocks that had major die off). It was mainly around sponge and once the die off stopped (about 4 weeks) the white went away (I did have to toothbrush it off). Die off is not good but a normal if you are expecting it. If it is die off it will just take time and a lot of water changes.

Can you take it out and smell it? When I smelt around the white stuff it made me want to throw up.
