Hospital tank
I had to set up a hospital tank without cycling it first.I have a flame and wrasse in there.10g. Could I put a foam block or floss from one of my other tanks in there?Would this add bacteria or would it add more ammonia?I want to try and hurry the cycle.
Thanks

yes, it is ok to add this filter, actually preferred to use it. I keep a sponge in my sump at all times, and if the need for a QT, or god forbid a hospital tank arises I will pull this sponge and use it, you need the bacteria in it to help with denitrification. Keep an eye on nitrate/nitrite levels in the hospiital tank however, and keep plenty of salt water on hand, very frequent aggressive water changes will still be needed. The last thing you want to be doing is exposing the fish to poor water quality in its stressed condition.
