Crestron--Anyone have it in their home?

Just wondering who has Crestron control systems in their home. I'm thinking of writing an integration module for one of the aquarium controllers so one would be able to monitor and control it from their Crestron touch panels and/or a web based X-Panel. I've already written one for the AC Jr and run it at home, but was thinking of writing one that can talk to the AC III Pro over ethernet. I'm just curious how many people would be interested in something like this. Here's a screen shot of my touch panel.

Please don't flood this thread with questions about what Crestron is, if you would like to learn about Crestron check out their site at www.crestron.com

I know that you said that you wanted to keep this about the software that you want to develop for it...but this is the second time in as many days that I've heard about this product and it sounds interesting...but I must be thick...cause when I go to there website...I can't figure out what product you are referring to.

The product seems very interesting from the screen shots...so I am interested...and might be interested in what you might be offering...but alas...I can't figure out there site.

So..I guess ... here is another bump for you

Hi Richard,
I don't mind explaining what Crestron is, I just didn't want to get smothered in questions. Basically Crestron makes control systems that can do just about anything. The systems I have worked on control anything from a fish tank, to whole house audio/video and lighting, to casinos and boardrooms. They have a huge amount of products, but most high end homes that have Crestron have a processor, a number of touch panels and are controlling A/V equipment and lighting. Adding the reef tank to it would just be an added benefit and definitely add to the "cool factor" of a home. This link better describes what most people do in their homes with Crestron and it provides a form to fill out to find out who sells it in your area http://www.crestron.com/features/applications/home/ . A lot of dealers have a setup on display to show what it can do. It's a very reliable product but it also is very expensive.

Dont Crestron products use RS232 or emitters for control? How do you control lighting, pumps etc?

Crestron can control devices via IR, RS-232, or Ethernet. The pumps, lights, heaters, etc could be controlled a few different ways. You could trigger a relay controlled power strip by using relay outputs on the back of the Crestron processor. You could use the power controllers that come with the Aqua Controller and have Crestron tell the Aqua Controller tell it to turn on/off. Or you could use X-10 devices and control them with a Crestron X-10 interface (but I would never use that method myself).
