Unhappy Euro Skimmer Pump HELP!

Can anyone suggest a solution to my problem?

I have a 260 gallon lps and sps coral reef with fish. It has over 300lbs. of live rock ,a dn the system including refugium and sump is probably around 300 gallons.

I have used a Euro skimmer to date, but my 350GPH sedra power head just went kaput. I would like to increase GPH but keep the same skimmer housing. Can I do that? Should I just replace the impeller only (assuming you all think the GPH is sufficient). Shjould I get a totally new pump (that has a powerhead doubling my GPH hopefully), or do I go for a totally new skimmer setup including everything?

Thanks for you sugestions in advance...(click the camera icon for photos)

Oh and by the way... how much time do I have to do this before my tank goes awry?

I dont think you can upgrade the pump to a larger one, it will overflow the skimmer I was told...

I'm not sure what to do about the pump, But I would act fast being you have SPS ....

My friend has a CS 8- ??? with the ksp-3500, he emailed euro reef wanting to do a sedra 5000, they told him it'd over flow the skimmer...

It would help to know the exact model of the skimmer. Honestly, even working properly, it sounds small for that size tank. I would call Euro-Reef and see if they can help you identify the model and get you the best size replacement pump.

I recently picked up a used CS8-3 (8"dia x30"tall) that came with a Sedra 5000. I hooked up my mesh modded Sedra 9000 and it handled that pump just fine.

You guys are a great help. Thanks alot. I will call Euroreef.
I have been suspecting for some time that something is up as new algae blooms have been a nuisance.
Again thanks alot!!!!!

chip also mentioned something about the chamber being to small for a bigger pump when I aske dhim about upgrading my sedra 3500 to 5000. he just said its too much pump for that body and I have the RS-80, so whatever! he works there, not me
