skimmer versus drains
Ok i have Two 1-1/2 inch drains.... Has anyone use one drain for draining into sump and the second drain use for a feed to a beckett skimmer in sump????
what probs im having is the dursos are fighting with eachother. any info would be good thank you |

What im askin is where should i get the input for the skimmer.... in the sump ????first chamber? |

A beckett relies on high flow, pressure rated pumps to throw the water in, wheras a recirculating nw only wants to be slowly fed.

i have a tarpon pump from secquence.. awesome pump but i was using one of the drains on my tank to feed it... dosent seem to do any good ... think im going to plumb in a spot on the sump where the filtersock is......

The pump doesn't perform because it wants to pull much more flow in and wants it steady, unlike a overflow drain.
You are NEVER supposed to feed a pump, it pulls it's own. With a beckett, run a pump for it and keep your drains all running to sump/fuge - imo
