Niger Trigger????
Just wondering if they can be kept with inverts in a FOWLR tank?? Mainly a coral banded shrimp, chocolate chip star, and a pink tip anemone. I read a few places that they will eat all inverts. Is this true? Anyone that has one, your feedback would be great!!

I wouldn't say all. Mine hasn't touched any hermits or snails. I've had him since christmas so no long term experience yet. I don't have any shrimp b/c my falco hawkfish ate them all prior to adding the trigger. Overall though he is a very peaceful fish that doesn't really bother anything.... but he does love to eat... and eat... and eat... he's really a pig!!!

Be carfule with Triggers all together...they can be very nasty especially when they are in the tank prior to other fish.

i have a huma-hama triger that is pretty good size, and he is the biggest baby ever and doesnt hurt anyone. in fact, my yellow tang that was put in the tank a couple months after, beats him up! the only thing he has EVER nipped at was one of my dispar anthias when i first put them in...he bit his tail off but it grew back. other than that, i have never had a problem with him, and i have crabs and starfish and smaller fish too! just feed him plenty. i think the niger trigger is one of the less aggressive triggers.

To Reef Central StephanieB Every fish has a personality of its own. I keep triggers in my FOWLER. All of them are very mean and will even bite me when I work in the tank, and they're pretty small. Some people get lucky with Nigers tho. I'd try a few cheap inverts with it like snails and hermits before I try anything more expensive. Mine will kill anything I put in the tank, but he may be a victim of peer pressure from the humu and clown triggers.

Seriously I watched my clown trigger (cool fish by the way) eat an urchin, yes an urchin in about 10 mins. flat. It was a big urchin too!!!
