white spot on black and white butterfly fish (NOT ICH)
i have a Henacious black and white butterfly fish in q/t
it is in a 25 gallon tank with an external filter with bio balls and filter wool. amonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 0 ph 8.2 the fish has been it there for 3 weeks and is doing fine eating well. and looking great. only thing is he has a single white spot on his tail it is bigger than ich and had not dropped of in the 3 weeks. i am sure it is not ich but don't know what else it could be. i am looking into lymphositis. does anyone else have any suggestions for what to read up on. i am trying to get a picture but he is not for posing and i am having camera problems.

no it is to small for that maybe ony twice the size of ich. it really does not seem to affect the fish just don't want to transfer something to the display. might try getting a magnifing glass onto it.

Is it on the edge of the fin? If so, it is most likely lymphocystis, which would be no big deal.

actually i think it is probably a very very mild case of lymphocystis.
i will treat for secondary infection and step up my water changes i think.
