MH color temp affect bulb life?

LFS was telling me that a comparable wattage MH bulb in a high K rating would last less than that of a low K rating. Is this true?

Yes. I would say that the lifespan of a 10,000K is about double that of a 20,000K. Quality of bulb mfg, bulb type, as well as the type of ballast you are running the bulb on also weigh in heavily, so Im not giving any exacts, but lets say with a high quality double-ended bulb and HQI ballast, a 10,000K can run 2 years, and a 20,000K will need changing after one year.
