DC8 won't turn Aqua Lifter off

I just added a kalk reactor with a Aqua Lifter as the dosing pump. My DC8 switches it on just fine but when I switch it back off the pump keeps running. I have to unplug the pump and plug it back in to get it to turn off. I've tried multiple outlets on the DC8 and they all behave the same. Has any one seen this before? Suggestions?

Mine does this also, I read it has some thing to do with the low power draw of the Aqua Lifter (only 3 watts). Hopefully some one will chime in with a more technical response to the hows and whys of it.
What I did to solve this is plug a plug splitter type thing in to the DC8 then plugged the Aqua Lifter and one those air freshener things in the splitter so they use the same outlet of the DC8 causing it to draw more power as a work around to this glitch. I have read of others using a night light, but I didn't want the light coming on all the time.

Icky is right. It has to do with the DAC used in the DC8 and a minimum current draw it needs to see in order to cycle. To test the theory, plug an outlet strip or splitter into the DC8 outlet in question. Plug your Aqua Lifter and a small light bulb or fan into the outlet strip. It should work as advertised...

I've heard of people running a light bulb or power head on the same outlet as the Aqua Lifter with good results. Your other option is to pick up a DC4 or DC4HD which doesn't use DACs for control. They use a relay which isn't prone to the min current requirement.

I plugged a little POS lamp timer along with my aqualifter and that worked for me. I don't have anything plugged into the lamp timer, it just somehow increases the draw enough to make the outlet shut off.

Thanks everyone, I picked up one of those little led nightlights and that did the trick.
