Kent Marine Biosediment?

Anyone use Kent Marine Biosediment in their refugium? Is it any better than regular sand?

On the advice of my LFS, I added to my refugium along with live sand. Kind of put some sand in, put some biosediment in and then more sand. Not really clear on what it is going to do though.

The biosediment buffers your water with trace elements and you just covered it up with sand so it probably won't do much for you.

Oops! He told me to "mix it with your live sand." I only used half the container so at what point in time do you add more and should I just add it to the top of the sand in the fuge? Thanks for the help.

That is what I did in my big sump live sand on the bottom and biosediment accross the top. In my eco40 I used a cup of miracle mud to seed it and the rest is biosediment.
