Using a 75g/day 5 stage RO/DI, how long to fill a 5 gallon bucket

I just got a 75 gallon per day RO/DI unit.
Its taking forever to fill a 5 gallon bucket.
I was wondering how long generally it should take?

That would be the optimal rate. But I was wondering what real life rates are like
considering some people have low water pressure and cold water at this time of year.

Redfishblue,

My RO unit comes no where close to advertised specs. It takes me about an hour to fill a 5 gal. bucket. I am considering purchasing a 35 Gal. storage vessel to store my RO water in and let the unit run as needed. The waste water is also used for other things.
Water hardness, pressure, temperature and line length are all factors of output.
Any way you look at it's still cheaper and more convenient than buying RO from youe LFS.

Barry

Yes a lot depends on the water temperature and input water pressure. As temperature and pressure drop, so does output.

5 Gallons in an hour is very reasonable (all things considered)

If you know your water temperature and water pressure, Buckeye Field Supply has a calculator on their sponsors forum page that is very accurate. Hardness and line length have very minimal effects on output but pressure and temperature have a huge effect.

I fill a 5 gallon bucket in 2 1/2 hours with my Maxcap 90 GPD. So figure around 3 hours or so.
