new 90 how much flow needed
i'm setting up my first reef tank, and need advise on flow. I currently have a rio 17hf (840gph at 4', 660gph at 6') for my return. flow is somewhere in between there. Plan on putting a closed loop in and looking at a iwaki wmd40rlt (750gph at 4')
so that puts at around 1400pgh. good or need more? thanks in advance for any advise. |

i would add in one more powerhead. right now your at 15x turn over which is good but i like a min. of 20x turn over, also another thing to watch out for is dead spots, they will also tell you if you need more flow or just need to rearange your powerheads better

what types of corals you looking at doing also makes a diff. a CL is a very good idea, i am also doing that on my 75 gal. i am planning on using a dart or the sequence 1000 series pumps
