Rusty Pump

I have a Mag 7 pump that I used in a sump for a year. I haven't used the pump in 2 years and now there is rust all around the screws, and all over the pump housing. Is there anything that I can use to remove the rust that is reef safe? Thanks for the help.

IMO remove the screws and clean-up the pumps internals and install new screws
