Overflow and refugium options?
I'm very limited in space.
25 Tall, had a wood hood, so I took off the lid and hung a PFO 250 DE pendant. I have a generic overflow that sticks too far into the tank to a ten gallon sump containing live rock, a CPR Bak Pak 2r, heater and a mag drive plumbed to a SCWD for return. I don't have room for a hang on refugium of any considerable size. I was thinking about either sectioning off the sump or putting a CPR refugium in the sump. I could just knock off the bottom tabs with a hammer or saw. I guess I have two questions, because I doubt I want to baffle off the sump. Has anyone tried the CPR refugiums with the built in skimmers? I love my bakpak, it's very efficient and if the built in ones have the same performance I'd get that. Also, how far in the tank does a CPR overflow stick? My current over flow takes up 3" into the display. The Pictures I've seen of the CPR overflows look like they are slimmer and wider. Is this true? Is there any "slimline" overflow out there? any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
