Snail Feces or Something Else
So does anybody know what this is? I occasionally see these "trails" being left on the glass by the cerith snails.
Thank you for your comments.

drummereef,
Hmmm...so perhaps I should stop scraping them off with my Mag-Float ;-) I will leave a trail or two on and see if they develop/grow into anything. Is it common for snails to lay eggs in captivity and have them offspring grow to adults? Thanks again.

BigBadBlenny,
Do you recall how long it took for them too hatch (incubation period). Have you had hatchings previously...did many of the snails survive to adulthood? Thanks.

You can just leave them. They will most likely become fish food either way.

i never usually pay attention. they come and go in m tank it seems once a week. my clown R.I.P. kept them clear. this is the first time i have seem them hatch. i have more on the walls of the tank now. they have been there for a few days, i will keep an eye on them this time. i will try and get a pic of the bugs. but they are soo small i go cross-eyed trying to look at them.

ceriths eggs hatch into a larval stage that last for many days, somewhere in the 30 day range (i think). if they make it past this stage they will start to develop into a little more visible. most the time they are either eaten or the filtration in our systems removes the larva from the water. can it be done? for sure. but the really need a specialized system in order for the snails to grow.
