Return Pumps

For my 180g, I'll have (2) 1.5" overflows.

Should I use 1 return pump, or 2 smaller ones for redundancy? e.g. If one pump fails, gets clogged, etc, the other pump is still running. Or is this overkill?

Personally I have 2 mag 1200 one on each outlet. I think I did it more for redundancy. If I need to work on 1 side I shut it down. Also if one pump fails I know the tank is still running. If I were to do it again I would have bought 2 mag 18's it handles the 12's with no problem
