Cool hang-on calcium reactor

Does anyone know if there is such thing as a hang-on calcium reactor?

yup sure is the only one ive seen in action was the pacific coast imports one. for sure do not buy this, does not work anywhere near as well as any other brand. as for MRC they are making one or actually have one ready to buy and all those products always are top notch. also if you dont have to have a hang on the back geo makes a awesome one along with MRC and another great one is the pico.

ccoral: Do you think that that reactor could easily be converted to a sulphur denitrator? And does it really come with a pump?

Go with the MRC Hang-On. I have one of their standard reactors and it is great!

doonan,
yes it does come with the pump. Not sure about the sulpher reactor. I thought you just needed a chamber with real slow water flow not a pump circulating the water in the actual chamber

ccoral,
I tried asking about using a phosban reactor but evryone told me that the flow wouldn't be low enough. Does the pump on your unit flow through or recirc? Does it need a feed pump and how slow is the discharge? I tried to get the spec from via aqua but it wasn't on their web site. Thanks in advance

I have my unit set up with a gravity feed line from the tank. The pump only is for recirc. It has nice valves on the top. One brings in co2 and water and other is a bleed valve the last is effluent water back to my sump.
Hope this helps

I have a HOT 3.5 and it easily kept up with the demands of 125 sps dominated reef. I would suggest tapping the lid and adding a line to scavage excess co2 that builds up at the top. By doing this I managed to go through a 5 lb cylinder of co2 in about 16 months. The reactor works well and is easy to dial in plus Andy at MRC is great to deal with.

- ViaAqua Acro-Cal Calcium Reactor -

Very nice little unit, with hang on, bubble counter but I hated, you never know if the pump is working or not, I converted into a phospate reactor after 2 weeks. I actually broke one of the outlet trying to see if the pump is working or not.

I just ordered the via aqua acrc-cal. I'm going to try and covert it to a sulfur reactor. Hopefully it'll work.
