Angry purple stuff in my tank

I was looking in the sand and i saw purple circles in it there where 3 of them. any i dea what is. My sand is 3 in. thick
any body know what it is?

What does cyano bacteria do. is it good or bad. how do i get rid

Its bad. Means you have excessive nutrients. Best way to cure it is to start a refugium growing some maco algae.

Its hard to tell what else you should do without listing some more details about your tank. Paramaters, filtration, movemement, lighting etc.

My tank is 30 gallons and i have 2 common clown fish. 1 chocalite chip star and 3 hermi crabs. 2 LIVE ROCK.

Ammonia = 0.50
Nitrite = 0.0
alk = normal
ph = 8.3

How much flow and skimming do you have? What are your Nitrates and Phosphates?

I have a pump pumping 200 gallons per hour (GPH) And i have no clue what skimming im using bu i am usin a proitein scimmer.

KEY WORD in the sand. i ahev not had that purple algie in my tank glass. it is turquras and is in the.

Do a water change. Ammonia at that level will kill your fish.
