kent ,,liquid reactor during cycle??

hi there,,my LFS told me to put this kent liquid reactor during cycle the tank ,,just to help the live rock bring up more color in it,,,, is it right?? i am not very sure about that,,i just want to make sure,,,thanks

I'm not a big fan of the all-in-one suppliments like this. It's not a good balanced suppliment for keeping your alkalinity and calcium up. Definitely not needed during the cycle, imo. Please read this...

Not entirely sure what you are asking. Adding any sort of supplement during the cycle will not really be of any benefit. Just wait and change the water often to ensure levels of ammonia don't get out of hand. Doing this also helps to ensure any other byproducts are removed and possibly increase the viability of various fauna in the rock. I think I can understand their logic--they are telling you to add a calcium supplement to increase coralline algae growth (purple/pink encrusting algae). But, as I said earlier, it won't help during the cycle. Get a two part additive like B-Ionic, Tech CB, or make your own with Randy's recipe. Liquid reactor is only ground aragonite isn't very good at maintaining calcium and alkalinity.
