clam licking glass...

so i bought some chaeto, red and green and some kelp, live sand, hermies and pod kit from ipr online and got a few clams as a bonus..the small nickle sized ones...fromw hat i read they are hearty and take what they need out of the water column. the others burried themselves right away but one has been...well licking the glass??? it looks like he is sticking out his tongue and licking the glass and sb...then retracts???

Actually, that is the clam's foot, not its tongue (though I admit it does look like that). Try to orient it somewhere else so that it can use its foot to bury itself.
