VHO or HO
Im moving about an hour away and I dont want to run the risk of having massive die off. My mom would like to upgrade her reef from a biocube to a 55 gallon, so my plan is to set that up so I can leave my coral and rock till my tank is back up and running. She doesnt want to spend a whole lot of money (wrong hobby) so I was trying to figure out if I should use VHO or HO on the tank. I have a 36" HO setup, but its to big so I might rip it apart and see what I can do with it. What are your ideas for the best lighting for cheap. She doesnt want to deal with sps and if she does want to get some it will be a low light needing species.

Either would work for what you are looking for. I think VHO's look better, but T5's have better Par ratings. I would just go with whatever you can get cheaper.
