Running Eheim 1262 external

I was looking thru Dr Foster's Smith website and found a water system kit 16/22 mm same measure as the Ehem 1262 intake if ran external. I was wondering if there would be any benefits in running the return pump outside of the sump instead of just placing it in sump. Less heat maybe??

yes... you keep the heat from the pump out of the water. At least some of it.

You can run the 1262 externally as well. It doesn't need to be in the sump.

will that kit work?? it is simply a u-tube intake with a strainer same Diameter as the intake for the eheim...also, I bought 5/8 tubing just to use to vacuum bottom and that happens to be the right size.
