Copepods question

hi Everyone... I jsu recently got a goldenhead sleeper goby and he's been hiding in the cave since... I was afraid the fish is not eating.. So my question is should I add a bottle of live copepod into the tank and see if it will feast on it? My tank is fairly new( only 1 month old) so i don't know if there are copepods in the tank... Do they grow on there own?

I'd give the goby a little time to settle in before worrying over much. Honestly, I would have waited to add a goby since they do get some nutrition from sifiting the sand through their mouth and gills.

Most people use live copeod bottles to help seed their tank or fuge. It certianly can't hurt to add it altough I did see tons of pods about 2 month into the start of my tank that seems to appear overnight.

I usually use foods soaked in garlic extract to entice new fish to eat...there are various brands out there for aquarium use. So try some garlic soaked mysis and squirt some near his cave.

Good luck.

He's sifting sand left and right inside his cave... I see him through the cave this hour next hour the cave is closed up and the other side open up.. so I don't know if he's eating inside or not.... I haven't seem him outside the cave yet for 3 days but I do know he move around because he jump from one cave to another.. I general Do copepods colony on its own or do I need to add a bottom of the oceanpod to jump start the colony process?
