nature's ocean sand quick question

I went to to the store earlier today and saw that they had the nature's ocean live sand and they also had another bag of nature's ocean but it came in a smaller bag and the sand looked more white. on the package with the whiter sand it didnt say anything. i was wondering if anyone had seen it and knew which one was better?

To Reef Central

I don't think either is worth any extra money. The sand isn't usefullly "live". I'd go with the dry stuff, assuming it's cheaper.

thanks! i was going to start a smaller tank, maybe 10 or 2.5 just because, not adding any fish to it. i've heard it's not live but I was thinking of seeding it with some sand or lr from my 28. so you think i should go with the other package? the one with no info?

I don't think any of those live sand products are worth any extra money. They contain at most some bacteria, which aren't going to help.
