It depends on the goby. If you are getting/have a goby that is a sand-sifter, it will feed on the invertabrates and the copipods in the sand. Any goby will accept meaty foods, such as vatamin-enriched live or frozen brine-shrimp, live black worms which you might be able to get at your LFS. But it mostly feeds on the bottom of the sand, filling its mouth with sand and sifting through it for the micro-scopic animals it feeds on. If your going to get a goby, i would highly suggest setting up a refugium and wait until the refuge is settled with macro-algea, and the Fiji mud, and copi- and amphi-pods to buy your goby. That will take about one to two weeks. You need to get this, other-wise your sand-sifting gobie(s) will slowly die of starvation.....

I'd get two yellow tailed damsels. They are peaceful and stay little, about 1 to 11/2 inches. They are really cute and won't bother any other fish. For the Sump i would recommend a chocolate Starfish. If you do get one......NEVER TAKE IT OUT OF THE SUMP AND PUT IT IN YOUR TANK!!!!!
It will eat anything and everything in your tank. It even eats detritus so, it would be useful for the Sump. We have had one for about two months now and it cleans the Sump very nicely.....

Not at all! Ours never fight with each other and they are COMPLETELY peacable with eveyone. Ironicly, our yellow tailed Damsels get picked on by our other Damsel, our own personal demon. He is a Jeweled Damselfish and was much smaller than both the yellow-tailed Damsels. He grew to be three times their size in time and, now torchures everyone in the tank. I have also done some reading on the Damsels, and the Yellow-tailed Damselfish are the most peacable of the Damsels.......Plus, once you add more fish, you hardly notice the Yellow Damsels anymore......

I have two yellow tail damsels, and I've done everything under the sun to catch one of them.
One of them is peaceful the other one is a terror.
He bothers everyone in my tank.
My hi fin goby can't even come out of his hole for 5 seconds before the freakin damsel runs him back in.
I know everyone says their the more peaceful damsel and one of them is, that's why I got them.
I should've known that I was taking a chance because they are damsels regardless, and I'll never get another one of any kind.
