worth upgrading?
is this kit from nanotuners worth the 80 bucks to upgrade from the stock lighting on my biocube? I am only going to be keeping zoos and softies and a few LPS...

I would say that is well worth it, and with that amount of lighting, you MAY be able to cheat and put an SPS frag at the top. Either way I would say well worth it, and I am sure you won't regret it as it will bring the colors in your corals more.

okay, but if i don't want to put any sps or anything in there, would the upgrade help my softies at all? i mean, will they help the color at all and grow faster or are they going to do pretty much the same now. If i got the lights, would i be able to get any clams?

I upgraded my BC29 with this lighting and a skimmer for the back section and it improved the water quality and coral health dramatically. The lighting brought out more color in the corals and I went with the SR3 from cpr and it pulls out some nasty stuff. I can't imaginge all the stuff that it has removed being built up in the tank. I think skimmers are essential in any salt water aquarium over ten gallons.

This depends on what types of corals you would like to keep. SPS need more lighting to strive while softies will do fine in the supplied lighting. Protein skimming is always helpfull in removeing excess organics from the water. This will be beneficial no matter what and unless you want SPS corals, I would go with the skimmer.

I haven't done ether but I did put in a heater and a refuge in chamber 2 0 nitrates have good growth and good color my upgrades cost about 25 dollars I think the light upgrade would be good though they also replace the fans so you have a little more air flow I change water about once a month and add two part calcium
Mark Hammer about 2 months ago a lot bigger now
