Turbo Snails

How much do large snails add to the bio load of the tank? Will it increase my nitrates if I add some Turbo snails?

I am trying to control my nitrates but had a chance to grab a few extra snails to replenish my cleaning crew population. The small ones I wasn't worried about but these Turbos are fairly large (maybe 1.5" - 2")

They wont help with your nitrate but I doubt you'll notice a difference.

They certainly add a bit to the bioload, but ultimately might help with your nitrates a little if you have a skimmer. Nitrates feed algae, snails eat the algae and if you have a skimmer you might be able to remove some of their waste this way, maybe lowering nitrates some.

What kind of filtration are you using on your 90g fowlr? If you have sponges, floss, bio-ball, etc.. that is probably what is contributing to your nitrates.
