Post Pics of Black Tank Backgrounds. I Have to Show My Wife!!

I've already decided to paint the back and sides of my new tank black. (There is only one viewing side) However, my wife thinks that it will look cheap. Honestly, I'm going to do what I want, but it would be nice to have less grief from her about it. Can you guys post some sharp looking tank pics with black backgrounds. If you have a before and after shot that would be even better! Thanks!

Why would you not want to look at the sides of your tank? I love looking at mine from different angles. I would not want to miss some of the things that I cannot see from just the front.

I just painted this a couple of weeks ago, the tank looks a little darker because im using 20 K bulbs. If you use a 10 K this will be much brighter.

Point out to your Wife that the black really makes the equipment blend in so you really don't notice it. That should be appealing.

Hey Ron,

Your infomercials are a scam! I watched your dad cut with the knife through the metal on the far side of the knife then cut the tomatoe with the near side of the knife.

I was devestated. I really thought I could trust you.

NG

I was having a hard time making a choice between blue and black and decided dark blue was the happy medium.

It's actually vinyl made by Avery. You can buy it at any sign shop or art stores by the foot and its sticky on one side. Make sure to get the thickest vinyl possible because light does pass thru it.

I actually have two layers of vinyl. Navy blue and black to make sure zero light can penetrate thru it.

Best trick to install it is with a spray bottle with a little dish soap so lubricate the surface and work the bubbles out with a large putty knife used to drywall.

Good luck!

Hahahahahahahahaha that's great.

Here's a horrible picture of mine with nothing in it, i just finished it the other night. Four coats of black rust paint. I am very happy with how it turned out.
