Pinpoint wireless thermometer question
I bought this Pinpoint wireless Thermometer. It has 1 sensor unit with a black wire coming out which ends in a pin head.
does that wire need to be submerged in the main tank or sump. I guess this wire is a sensor probe which send the water temp to the sensor unit, and in turn the sensor unit transmit the temp to the remote display unit... does any one has used this... |

Not sure if it's the same but I got an indoor/outdoor digital thermometer from radio shack and I just put the probe in the sump. No problems.

The sensor is at the end of the black wire. That is the only thing that you need to submerge. If you want to measure the temp of the sump, then put the sensor in the sump. If you want to measure the temp in the display tank, then put it in the display tank.
I think you can hook up to 4 sensors to the main unit, so if you want to measure both you could, but they should be very close anyway.

Its working , but I doubt it can transmit 100ft as mention .
When I am close to the unit then my display shows the temp. |
